Las Vegas Strip Closed

Vegas Strip will be Closed for New Year’s: Traffic Delays Expected

Posted On: 12/30/2015

Are you traveling around Las Vegas this New Year? Remember that the Strip shuts down the roads for transportation on New Year’s Eve. The Vegas Strip essentially becomes one giant block party and with over 320,000 people expected to visit in 2016, things can get intense. This is why the Nevada Department of Transportation in conjunction with the metro police and highway patrol will be shutting down the Las Vegas Strip from 5 PM on New Year’s Eve (December 31, 2015) to 6 AM on New Year’s Day (January 1, 2016). This means all roads leading to Las Vegas Blvd and all on and off ramps leading to I-15 will be closed.

If you’re planning for your night out on New Year’s Eve, please take any necessary travel precautions. If you’re leaving or entering Las Vegas anywhere between 5 PM New Year’s Eve and 6 AM New Year’s Day, be very prepared for traffic delays.

Check with Showtime Tours about the best time to travel and for alternative hotel pickups, as some hotels on the Strip will become inaccessible.

Have a great and fun New Year’s!
